Senior Legal Counsel Europe (Real Estate)

Exciting and varied opportunity for a mid to senior level real estate Legal Counsel with real estate background and/or general in-house retail experience. A bonus if the candidate has experience working with other European jurisdictions.

4 or 5 days per week, 3 days in the Brick Lane, Shoreditch office.

• Predominantly assisting and advising on Real Estate portfolio and lease negotiations across Europe.
• Drafting wayleave agreements
• Drafting leases, deeds of variation, AFLs, various licences
• Managing break dates and lease expiry dates
• Liaising with agents and LLs.

Also assisting the team with:

• Drafting and advising on T&Cs online and in-store, privacy policies, cookies policy.
• Advising the business and drafting/negotiating on wide range of E-Commerce matters (website content, payment solutions, outsourcing and consultancy arrangements, data processing agreements).
• Advising on Data Protection law and keep the business up to date on developments in this area.
• Supporting the customer services team with escalated customer complaints.
• Assist with escalated Health & Safety and Regulatory issues.
• Advise on compliance with consumer protection law and advertising codes.
• Negotiate and draft a range of commercial contracts such as concession agreements, marketing agreements, wholesale contracts, advertising agency agreements, partnership and brand collaboration agreements and influencer agreements.
• Negotiate and draft 3^rd party logistics contracts and assist the Peterborough Distribution Centre with queries and contracts.
• Assist Director of Legal with contentious matters.
• Assist with development of precedents and templates.
• Deliver training to the business and assist Director of Legal with legal updates to the business.
• Liaises with and supervises outside counsel.
• Perform other tasks for the URBN Legal Department as needed.
• Deputise for the Director of Legal when she is away.

• 4-8 years PQE real estate qualified, preferably with experience within retail and fashion.
• Top tier academic credentials with demonstrated achievement at each institution.
• Training Contract at reputable law firm within Real Estate or Commercial practice group.
• Excellent writing and public speaking skills.
• Legal research, negotiation, analysis, communication, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively, as part of a small legal team.
