Role Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Management Accountant to join the Shared Services Finance team at URBN, reporting into the Finance Manager. This role will give the right person the chance to work in an experienced team and will be given the encouragement and support to learn and develop.

 

All three of our brands (Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, and Free People) in Europe are accountable for their own buying, merchandising and selling. Several other functions sit within shared services as a part of the wider URBN European division. Within this division sits Finance, IT, Logistics, Property, Construction, Facilities Management, Real Estate, HR & Talent Acquisition.

 

The successful candidate should have good numeric, organization and interpersonal skills and adapt to working in a fast-paced dynamic retail environment.

What You'll Be Doing

Internal Reporting: responsibility of Property areas: Rent, Rates, Utilities, Service Charge & Other

  • Accruals & prepayments
  • P&L variance analysis
  • Preparation of supporting schedules
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Property payment run and adjustments
  • Setting up/amend new leases in Oracle
  • Computation and submission of forecast and budgets
  • Preparation of supporting bridges explaining variance to forecast and prior years
  • Supporting with ad hoc analysis and queries

 

External Reporting: responsibility of Audits, Filing of Statutory Financial statements & Corporation Income Tax returns.

  • Supporting with ad hoc analysis and queries

 

Stakeholder Management: both areas of reporting will require internal and external stakeholder management.

What You'll Need

  • You will be a team player, flexible in approach, highly motivated & ambitious.
  • Organized and a true multi-tasker, a problem solver and approach challenges with positivity.
  • Advanced level of MS Excel Skills and similar level for other MS programs.
  • Clear communicator with a proven ability to influence positive change.
  • Part qualified (Finalist) in ACA, ACCA, CIMA or AAT desireable.
  • Systems exposure e.g., Oracle, Hyperion, Qlik, Alteryx or similar BI tool (preferred)
  • Retail and/or property experience an advantage.
  • Working proficiency in a European language is desirable but not essential.
