Role Summary

While all three of our brands in Europe are accountable for their own buying, merchandising, and selling, many of our functions sit within our Shared Services division. Within this group sits Finance, IT, Logistics, Property, Construction, Facilities Management, Real Estate, Loss Prevention, HR & Talent Acquisition.

 

With a strong growth forecast across the UK and mainland Europe driven by strong direct demand and retail expansion, we are looking to grow our EU Finance team to transition some of the critical inventory processes that have historically been completed in North America.

 

Whilst the role works within the Finance team located in our European Head Office in London, you will have stakeholders across the business in Merchandising, Retail, Inventory Control at Peterborough Fulfilment Centre (PFC), Loss Prevention, and Tech. 

What You'll Be Doing

As our Merchandise Control Analyst, you’ll be an integral part of our finance team, with responsibilities including:

  • Annual store stock count process management, reconciliation, and reporting. Coordination and support between commercial, stores and PFC.
  • Inventory reporting, including insight to areas such as damages.
  • Drive process improvement across the business, for example Return to Vendor (RTV)
  • Store support with

- Price reduction (mark-out) and write off process,

- Cycle counts

- Store file maintenance

- Shrink write-offs for known theft.

- Stock in transit issue resolution if not acknowledged/received.

  • Queries relating to transfers, deliveries, receiving, RTVs, invalid carton & discrepancies
  • PFC support with:

- Issue resolution that cannot be cleared by the Inventory Control team alone

- Accuracy reporting and system alignment management

- Clear down discrepancy locations to maximise stock available for sale

  • Ensure Dropship POs are receipted accurately.
  • Work with finance to support the statutory audit process.
  • Support the Loss Prevention team with investigations.

 

What You'll Need

Our most important requirement is that you’re passionate about building strong relationships and supporting the business! However, other skills we’ll expect are: 

  • An understanding of inventory process from receipt to sale.
  • Familiarity with Island Pacific inventory system.
  • Proficient MS Excel Skills and a similar level for other MS programs such as Outlook, Word etc.
  • Exposure to Financial Systems such as Oracle, Qlik, Alteryx and/or Vertex would be helpful but not essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A willingness to learn and develop your operational and finance knowledge and apply it in your day-to-day role.
  • Great organisation skills and the ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines.
